Ludwig, Wigand, Castian and Gotwin von Geiss-Streissen have accompanied the elderly Knight Lothar Freiherr von Arenshausen to Middenheim, where he was to meet an old friend.
Due to a turn of events, they are enlisted by the Temple of Shallya to find and return Professor Udo Stradovski, a lector at the Collegium Theologica, accused of sedition and heresy, who has disappeared after one of his students acted as a bond.
